San Antonio is a Mexican-American city to its bones. On the West Side, in the neighborhoods around Market Square, in families that have been here for four and five generations, Spanish is not a second language — it is the language the important things get said in. And yet, when one of those women finally decides she is ready to talk to someone, she often finds that the therapist who takes her insurance does not speak the language her grief lives in, and the one who speaks it has a three-month waitlist. That gap is the whole reason this page exists.

I grew up two and a half hours south of you, on the Laredo side of the border, in the same South Texas world — the same church, the same comadres, the same expectation that you hold the family together and do not make a fuss. So when we work together, I am not translating your culture back to you. I already speak it.

Most of the people I see in San Antonio are not in crisis. They are capable — the ones everyone leans on. The professional who is the first in her family with a salaried job and cannot admit how tired she is. The daughter caring for a parent while raising her own kids. The wife who went quiet inside a marriage years ago and is only now noticing. We work on low self-esteem, the weight of a past that still surfaces, grief that never got its turn, and the particular burnout of being the strong one. I draw on cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness, and a holistic, client-centered approach — at your pace. You decide what we touch and when.

Doing this online is not a compromise for a city this size — it is the point. No drive across town after work, no waiting room where you might see someone from your parish or your job, no explaining to anyone where you're going on Thursdays. You log on from your car on a lunch break or from your kitchen after the kids are down, and the hour is yours.
