# Therapy for women who have been holding it all together .

You are the one who handles it. The one who remembers everyone’s appointments, absorbs everyone’s moods, and never quite gets around to her own.

For whom

### Not a crisis line

Most women I see are functioning — the problem is what functioning is costing them.

How we begin

### No script required

You don’t have to arrive organized. We follow whatever thread has the most life in it.

Language

### Bilingual, unfiltered

Sessions run in English, Spanish, or the natural mix bilingual women speak.

## Being capable is not the same as being okay

From the outside, your life looks like something you have managed. The people around you are still fed. The work is still getting done. Your calendar is still full. Nobody has any real reason to worry about you, and that has become part of the problem — you have made it too easy to look fine.

Inside is a different picture. You sleep, but not deeply. You eat, but not always because you are hungry. You react more than you used to, and you apologize for reacting. There is a quiet, steady exhaustion underneath the day, and even when there is time to rest, you cannot fully arrive in the rest.

This is what a lot of women mean when they say something is wrong but they cannot name it. You are not broken. You have been running a life on reserves you never got permission to refill.

## What women bring here

Every woman’s story is her own, but a few themes come up so often they are worth naming out loud.

- **A relationship that made you smaller.** Not always dramatic, not always what a movie would call abuse. Sometimes it is years of being talked over, corrected in public, or slowly convinced that your instincts could not be trusted. You come in less sure of your own voice than you used to be.
- **A divorce that ended and a self that didn’t come back.** The paperwork closed. The house was sorted. But the version of you that existed before that marriage never quite reappeared, and you do not entirely recognize the woman standing in her place.
- **[A past that was never said out loud.](/counseling-for-trauma)** Something happened — as a child, as a young woman, in a relationship — and the family agreement was that it would not be discussed. So it wasn’t. And it never stopped being there.
- **[Grief that never got its turn.](/grief-counseling)** Someone died, or something ended, and you were the one everyone needed to be strong for. You handled the arrangements, the family, the paperwork, the other people’s tears. Yours are still waiting.
- **[Burnout](/burnout-therapy-texas) that everyone around you calls “being busy.”** You are the daughter of aging parents, the mother of children who need you, the coworker who covers for everyone else. Rest feels selfish. You have started to wonder if you even remember what you like.

## How we work

I am not going to tell you to love yourself more. That is a poster, not therapy. What I can offer is a room where the story you have been managing on your own can be told without being tidied first, and a therapist who has heard versions of it many times and is not going to flinch.

Sessions are 60 minutes, in English or Spanish, by secure video anywhere in Texas or in person in [Laredo](/therapist-laredo-tx). Early sessions are mostly listening. From there we work at the pace your nervous system can actually take. Some weeks that means going into something old. Some weeks it means figuring out how to get through this Thursday. Both count.

You do not have to know what you need before we start. You are allowed to arrive tired.

> You have made it too easy to look fine. You are allowed to arrive tired.

Not sure if this is the right fit? That’s what the free call is for.

## Questions people ask

### Is this only for women who are in crisis?

No. Most of the women I see are functioning. The problem is what functioning is costing them. You do not have to be falling apart to deserve a place to put this down.

### I don't even know what I'd talk about first.

That's normal. We are not going to sit in silence. I will ask, gently, and we will follow whatever thread has the most life in it. You do not have to arrive organized.

### Do you only work with Spanish-speaking women?

No. I work in both English and Spanish, and often in the natural mix bilingual women speak. Language is not a filter for who belongs here.
