That binational life is beautiful and it is also heavy in ways that are hard to explain to someone who didn't grow up in it: family on both sides, a childhood that moved back and forth, grief for a place and a version of yourself that the crossing left behind. I understand that without a long explanation, because I grew up the same way, five hundred miles down the same river. One honest note first: I'm licensed in Texas, so I can only work with people who are physically here in Texas — El Paso, Texas, not Juárez. If you're on the Texas side, we can work together entirely online, anywhere in the state. El Paso is a border city, and border life carries its own particular stresses — the pull between two countries, families separated by paperwork, the weight of being the one who "made it across" and now carries everyone's hopes. On top of that is everything ordinary life brings: low self-esteem, a past that still surfaces, anxiety, grief that never got its turn. We work on all of it in the language it actually lives in. I draw on cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness, and a holistic, client-centered approach — at your pace, and you decide what we touch and when. For families in an immigration case, I also conduct bilingual immigration hardship evaluations — a clinical evaluation, not legal advice, never a promise of an outcome.
